Some of the most beautiful moments begin with a simple surprise. For Niakale, an ordinary evening out with her friends in New York City turned into an unforgettable marriage proposal.
In August 2026, we had the pleasure of planning, decorating, and photographing Ommar and Niakale's romantic surprise proposal at Ladies Pavilion in Central Park — complete with candlelight, flowers, stunning views, and a few very special guests.
A Surprise She Never Saw Coming
Niakale thought she was simply heading out for a walk with her friends. Meanwhile, Ommar had something much bigger planned. Our team at Sirius Proxima took care of the details behind the scenes, from choosing the location and arranging the necessary permissions to setting up the decorations and coordinating with family and friends.
The plan was simple: all Ommar and Niakale needed to do was arrive. We would take care of the rest. When the moment finally came, Ommar got down on one knee, surrounded by a romantic candlelit setup at Ladies Pavilion.
And, of course, she said yes!
The surprise didn't end there. Seeing her mother and friends waiting to celebrate made the moment even more emotional. There were smiles, laughter, and happy tears almost too difficult to hold back.
An Intimate Candlelit Proposal at Ladies Pavilion
Located in Central Park, Ladies Pavilion offers a romantic setting for a New York City proposal, especially in the evening. For this occasion, we created an elegant, minimalist decoration setup with warm candlelight, delicate floral details, and a beautiful illuminated sign. Every element was chosen to complement the pavilion's architecture while keeping the arrangement simple and thoughtfully organized. We also handled the location planning and necessary permission arrangements, allowing the couple to enjoy the experience without worrying about the logistics.
When the Unexpected Happens, We Stay Ready
Even the best-planned surprises can come with unexpected changes. Niakale arrived later than expected, which meant the proposal took place in darker conditions than originally planned. But with our professional lighting equipment ready, we were able to capture the emotions, atmosphere, and important details of the evening. For us, proposal photography isn't just about having a camera ready. It's about being prepared for the moments you can't predict.
More Than Just the Proposal Moment
After the big yes, we continued with a romantic couples photoshoot around Ladies Pavilion. We captured everything from the first reactions and the beautiful ring to relaxed portraits, intimate moments, and photographs together in the decorated pavilion.
Our goal was to give Ommar and Niakale more than photographs of the proposal itself — we wanted them to have a love story they could look back on for years to come.
